National Center for Education Statistics

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education.  The site features web access to public and private school statistical data, as well as research reports on school use, achievement, districting and more.

  • Search for schools, colleges and library data
  • Annual reports including The Digest of Education Statistics
  • Fast Facts - concise information and data on a variety of topics, including educational technology, school facilities and operations, enrollment and teacher trends

National Education Association

NEA's site features research on education funding, Common Core Standards and legislative issues.  The site also includes tools and resources for teachers and planners, including sample lesson plans, teaching strategies, advice and support.

Michigan Department of Education - MI School Data 

School counts, enrollment, teacher and staffing data, financial information and annually collected Michigan education data from the State's official website.

NCES - International Education Comparisons

The Center's international surveys include country-based comparisons of student attainment, teaching and curriculum topics, and an International Data Explorer which allows users to set up their own comparisons.

Ed.gov - US Department of Education

The Department of Education's Research & Statistics page includes links to the Nation's Report Card and other annual assessments produced by the federal government, research and best practices for teachers and administrators.
