The Build America, Buy America Act requires that all of the iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in infrastructure projects are produced in the United States.

The 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) included extensive new requirements for infrastructure projects to be “made in America.” Known as the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA), this section of the law promised to stimulate American manufacturing and create jobs for American workers by ensuring that a substantial portion of BIL funding would be used to purchase U.S.-made products and materials.
