On-site Databases

These databases need to be accessed within the Tozzi Financial Center.


  • Multiple Bloomberg terminals are available in the Tozzi Center.
  • Use Bloomberg to find current and historical financial information on individual equities, stock market indices, fixed-income securities, currencies, commodities, and futures for both international and domestic markets.


  • We currently have one Datastream seat for faculty and PhD users. To request registration and login information, email
  • Use Datastream for historical, global coverage of equities, stock markets, commodities, futures, currencies, options, bond markets, company financials, and economic data.
  • NOTE: Datastream is installed on one of the public terminals in the Kresge Library (4th floor, Kresge Building)

  • Factset is available in the Tozzi Financial Center.
  • Use Factset to find financial data from global equity and fixed income markets, and public and private companies


Bloomberg Tips

Hedge Funds in Bloomberg

  • For news on hedge funds, type NI Hedge, then hit <GO>.
  • For a listing of hedge funds tracked in Bloomberg, type Hedge Fund, hit the HELP key, and then select #11 Funds from the menu.
  • For Portfolio holdings information type PSRT hit <GO>, and then fill in the relevant menu options.
  • For screening and other options, type HFND then hit <GO>.

IPOs in Bloomberg

  • For new issue calendar main menu, type ECDR then hit <GO>.
  • ECDR3 <GO>– Listing of all IPO’s and secondary offerings coming current week
  • ECDR8 <GO>– IPO summary, total number of and dollar value of new issues by month
  • ECDR13 <GO>– Lists IPOs by industry
