The Higher Education Act requires instructors and staff to show students the costs of courses before they register.
These costs can be found on the online bookstore, the Barnes & Noble Virtual Bookstore.
Just as you would "report" a printed book to a campus bookstore and ask them to purchase it, you can "report" your book or other materials to the online bookstore through the Adoption Portal. Barnes & Noble will then offer students options for purchase and show them the exact price.
Kresge can help by posting information about the course materials they process.
You may see emails from the Registrar regarding "reporting course materials." When you do , please follow the guide below to know what to do.
I have... | How to report |

Materials procured by Kresge:
|
Do not report. Kresge staff will report and place a note in the Barnes & Noble Virtual Bookstore listing for your class. |
A printed textbook | "Adopt," or report, the book to the online bookstore through the Barnes & Noble Adoption & Insights Portal. |
Other materials, or no items |
Email Barnes & Noble staff at umichtextbooks@bncservices.com and describe the materials. The Barnes & Noble staff can manually add notes that the students will see in the online bookstore. |
