Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) (2022)

New. Effective as of June 21, 2022. Prohibits the "import of goods, wares, articles, and merchandise mined, produced, or manufactured wholly or in part in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of the People's Republic of China." List of affected entities include Hoshine Silicon Industry Company, producer of silicon based products for the semiconductor and solar panel industries.

CRS Summary: Section 307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. §1307)
